This cake was created (obviously) for my son's 8th birthday. He had a monster truck theme, so I tried to incorporate the shape of an 8 with a monster truck smash theme. I used 2 angel food cake pans and trimmed one of the edges of each to place them together to form an 8. I think it turned out pretty well, and it was quite easy!

Very cute! Wondering how many boxes of cake mix needed to fill one angel food cake pan... need to double to get a nice thick cake?
Hey Jenn! Thanks for asking. I made this cake years ago, so I'm not positive what I did, but I'm pretty sure I would have used one box per pan. There's usually directions on the cake mix for a bundt pan, so use those cooking directions. On another note, if I'm using 2 mixes, sometimes I will use one chocolate and one white/yellow, and swirl them together to make a mottled looking cake. The kids seem to like that! Good luck! Let me know how it turns out.

I don't understand why the box cake? Why not scratch?
That's a good point. But I believe that people can bake however they want to! I usually bake from scratch, but if I am running short on time, or creating a tricky shaped cake, I may use a cake mix just for consistency purposes. All the children care about is the finished product at the end! When I am baking for adults, however, I would always bake the cake from scratch! Just my 2 cents :).
