I made this cake for my son's 10th birthday. He so badly wanted something Star Wars, and I finally decided to attempt this Darth Vader mask. It's a bit lopsided, but he was happy with it! I didn't want to do black frosting and stain all the kids' faces, so I went with a dark chocolate and it worked out okay! I started with a 9x13 pan and carved out the shape. Then I used some of the trim pieces to fill in and add relief to his helmet and nose piece. I also carved some spaces out so they would be indented.
